My name is Charles-Étienne Pascal, but you can call me Chuck.

I'm a hard-working colorist who's very serious about his work, but I don't take myself too seriously. I am a senior (old) colorist at Arketype in Montréal, Canada.

I like to spend time with the footage and let it tell me where it needs to go. Some of that comes from years shooting and printing my own photography. You learn what light and shadow actually do when you've had to capture and print it yourself. What comes out of that is built as much on your instinct as mine.

The best part of the job is the people: collaborators who've become friends, new creative minds I meet every week, and sessions that drift into talking about music, books, or food while we wait on notes.

When I'm not grading, you'll find me in the pit at a metal show or on my motorcycle. Or, more likely, at home watering my plants and rearranging furniture for the fourth time this month. All while getting judged by the cat and taking orders from a tiny human who somehow already looks like me.
